The activities in two very large states, and probably the two most influential states when it comes to Herbalife, are a tangled mess:
- This one is out of California, where Herbalife is based: http://www.benzinga.com/news/16/09/8422277/the-herbalife-saga-continues-with-another-negative-report-released-saturday-morni The California AG has also failed to take any visible action on a permanent restraining order: http://www.mlmwatch.org/04C/Herbalife/1986order.html Talk about being in bed with the enemy!
- New York, the center of finance, the stock market, etc., has a similar issue, although this one is with the New York AG and his divorced wife, so it appears they are still on very friendly terms: http://www.progressqueens.com/editorial/2014/11/16/schneiderman-give-new-yorkers-an-update-on-the-herbalife-investigation
In both cases, personal relationships are, at a minimum, giving the appearance of getting in the way of justice. These relationships and the lack of taking action are all the more perplexing, now that the FTC has shined a bright light on the Herbalife scam.
